Role Description
The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences will hire a postdoctoral fellow to support implementation research within grant-funded maternal health projects. This opportunity is ideal for quantitative or mixed-methods researchers who desire to have a positive impact on maternal health while strengthening their expertise and publication record in implementation research, quality improvement, and health behavior.

Contribute to conceptualizing research questions from project and study data.

Analyze data and develop manuscripts for publication.

Design and operationalize data collection for evaluation of program activities.

Join a dynamic and interdisciplinary team with collaborators across the UAMS College of Public Health, the UAMS Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the Arkansas Perinatal Quality Collaborative, and the Arkansas Center for Womenβs and Infants Health.

Work closely with state agencies and external healthcare organizations.

Initial two-year term with opportunities to extend for a third year.
Qualifications
-
Doctoral degree in public health, social/behavioral sciences, or a related field required.

Applicants must upload a writing sample and three (3) academic references along with their CV/resume to be considered for the position.
Requirements

Formal coursework or professional training in implementation science, quality improvement, or organizational psychology.

Advanced quantitative analysis training; some qualitative research training/coursework.

Maternal health research and/or programs, 3 years; published 2+ articles as primary author.
Responsibilities
-
Conceptualizes research questions, analyzes data, and prepares manuscripts suitable for publication in leading journals.

Works closely with faculty, interdisciplinary staff, and external partners to operationalize research plans, develops protocols and instruments, supervises and ensures quality of research procedures, and participates in data collection.

Collaborates with Principal Investigators, research staff, and partners in preparing proposals for external funding and responding to RFPs.

Perform other duties as assigned.
