[Hiring] Software Test Engineer @Quadrant

Role Description

The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing high-level software tests to ensure proper functionality within client systems.

• Support various development teams on the project and help develop test plans, test schedules, and approaches.
• Conduct a walk-through on test case/script with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads.
• Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios.
• Perform and lead tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects.
• Document and communicate test results.
• Support analysis of test results and resolution of open issues.
• Document and work to resolve all complex problems.
• Report progress on problem resolution to management.
• Devise improvements to current procedures and develop models of possible future configurations.
• Create daily test metrics and reporting.
• Receive assignments in the form of objectives and establish goals to meet outlined objectives.
• Provide direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance.
• Work is reviewed by management to measure whether objectives have been met.
• Demonstrate good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
• Contribute to the completion of specific programs and projects.
• Frequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.
• Represent the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Qualifications

• Experienced SW Test Engineer.
• Eligible for level 2 Public Trust.
• 10+ years of professional experience with software testing and quality assurance.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing.
• Strong Python scripting is required.
• Strong knowledge of test automation frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, QTP, LoadRunner).
• Former track record of working on complex software projects and ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Experience in backend testing of web applications, APIs, and services.
• Understanding of performance testing and tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling).
• Strong programming skills, often in languages such as Java, Python, or C#.
• Experience with defect tracking and management tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Experience in testing COTS products (Edifecs is a plus).
• Knowledge of database and SQL for validating stored data.
• Strong understanding of risk-based testing, exploratory testing, and context-driven testing.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Familiarity with cloud-based testing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• High attention to details.
• Strong problem-solving skills and highly analytical.
• Edifecs certification is preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree in related Discipline.
