[Hiring] Software Test Engineer @Leidos

Role Description

The LPDH test group for DHMSM currently has an opening for a Software Test Engineer to support the electronic military health record post-deployment activities. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience to help the Department of Defense Healthcare Management System Modernization (DHMSM®) Program. In this role, you will join a matrix test team of Leidos and contractor personnel in support of the DOD military health system MHS GENESIS primarily on the Segment 2 (Theater) as well as Segment 1 (Garrison) testing, when needed.

The ideal candidate for this role will:

• Analyze system requirements and capability acceptance criteria.
• Focus on configuration of Electronic Health Record (EHR) for ships, hospitals, and clinics as well as new intellectual property (IP).
• Be a self-starter, responsible, and able to adjust to different assignments to support DHMSM testing during go-live.
• Dove-tail work with fellow team members, the LPDH Engineering Testing group, and the customer DT&E and JOMIS team members.
• Be comfortable with virtual or physical “over-the-shoulder” demonstrations to the government testers and other stakeholders.
• Work at the METIC and in the FF GAL and/or OMGAL as required.

The following list provides the basics of the primary responsibilities:

• Follow established standards and procedures to estimate and create test cases to satisfy requirements and/or to verify defect fixes.
• Trace requirements to the test cases and link to associated defects or Remedy/JIRA tickets.
• Review peer review or customer comments and apply edits to the test cases.
• Follow test case steps to execute test cases in dry-runs, environment verification, and other internal testing in non-production environments.
• Support test events by executing the assigned test cases and creating detailed annotated test evidence files for redaction and safe keeping.
• Prepare testing status input for gate reviews (e.g., Test Readiness Review).
• Master MHS GENESIS to play multiple roles as needed to support the test and evaluation group.
• Provide input to the test reports after a test event or defect fix occurs.
• Other duties to support the DHMSM programs as identified by the test lead or test manager.

Qualifications

• BS and 4-8 years of prior relevant experience or master’s with 2-6 years of prior relevant experience. A lesser degree with professional experience may be considered in lieu of BS.
• US Citizen and the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance. Contract Requirement. Active Public Trust preferred.
• Excitement for the opportunity to test in support of the electronic Military Health Record during and after software deployment to new sites.
• Understanding of testing methodology.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
• Customer oriented to support IV&V activities.
• Word, PowerPoint, and Excel experience or equivalent.
• Ability to work alone and with team members remotely.
• Prior hands-on experience supporting the DHMSM program in a Test Engineer role.

Preferred Qualifications

• SDLCNext and/or JIRA test repository tool experience.
• Existing Public Trust.
• Demonstrated capability to work with others through a test event or other similar activity.
• Clinical testing background, direct or related clinical experience, or prior experience with Military Health System (MHS) applications/environments or interfaces.
• Experience in Rhapsody, XML, and/or JSON.

Pay Range

Pay Range $73,450.00 - $132,775.00. The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
