Role Description
Posit is seeking a Sr. QA Engineer with solid leadership, analysis, and automated test case creation experience. The Workbench team builds our professional server product, which serves data science IDE sessions to enterprise users and scales data science tools across large clusters.
This role offers a great opportunity to drive the quality of our software through understanding what our customers want, what our stakeholders are expecting, careful testing and thoughtful analysis. What you’ll own:
- Define test strategies, automation plans, and Definition of Done for projects.
- Drive your team to determine what needs to be tested and automated.
- Define regression and validation requirements.
- Solicit feedback from stakeholders and document the test processes for the rest of the team.
- Own the overall coordination and communication of your day to day work.
- Work closely with QA and Engineering leadership to ensure correct process and strategy.
- Create, maintain and enhance automated test suites (end-to-end, API, or load and performance).
- Learn from other teams and understand the Posit products.
- User advocacy for new features and enhancements to products and projects.

- Collaborate with developers and other stakeholders to ensure quality products.
- Coordinate test coverage and assess risk holistically with other QA Engineers.
- Mentor others in areas where you have expertise.
- Build for the future of automated tests and infrastructure.

What you’ll learn:

Qualifications
- Experience in the Python language.
- Familiarity with the R Language.
- Experience with web-based interfaces, IDE applications, and Workbench tools.
- 5+ years of writing automated tests.
- Able to write and understand tests in Python (Playwright and Selenium preferred).
- Experience creating high-level test strategies for multiple products.
- Curiosity and a willingness to learn new technologies.
- A humble, collaborative approach to producing high-quality software.
- Experience writing SQL queries to verify data.
