[Hiring] Senior QA Automation Engineer @Monks

Role Description

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer, you’ll own and elevate end-to-end quality for modern web applications, building and scaling automated testing (with a strong focus on Playwright) across frontend and backend systems while partnering closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to enable fast, reliable releases.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive Test Plans and detailed Test Cases based on requirements, technical specs, and risk assessments
• Build, execute, and evolve robust automated test suites using Playwright (must) and related frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Robot Framework)
• Implement and maintain API testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and reliability (e.g., Postman, REST-assured, or equivalent)
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, improving release confidence and shortening feedback cycles
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps to understand architecture, identify risks, and ensure coverage of critical user journeys
• Analyze test results, document defects with precision, and track issues in JIRA (or similar), ensuring clarity and accountability
• Champion QA best practices across the organization, contributing to continuous improvement and mentoring as needed
• Proactively explore edge cases and failure modes, using curiosity and critical thinking to uncover hidden risks
• Participate in Agile ceremonies (planning, refinement, retrospectives) and contribute to team delivery commitments
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant QA experience, spanning manual and automated testing
• Proven ability to create high-quality Test Plans/Test Cases that drive comprehensive coverage
• Advanced proficiency in JavaScript for writing and maintaining automation scripts (Python/Java a plus)
• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright (must); familiarity with Robot Framework/Selenium or similar tools
• Experience testing frontend applications, including React (must)
• Working knowledge of API testing methodologies and tools (Postman, REST-assured, or equivalent)
• Experience integrating tests into CI/CD and understanding core DevOps concepts
• Proficiency with JIRA (or equivalent) for defect tracking, test management, and collaboration
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and independent problem-solving ability
• Advanced English (B2+) with proactive, high-visibility communication (clear written updates, risk callouts, and status reporting)
• Ability to manage priorities across multiple efforts while maintaining quality standards
