The Quality Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of ACE’s digital learning platforms and internal software systems. This position:

• Designs, develops, and maintains scalable automated testing frameworks and scripts.
• Collaborates with cross-functional teams to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Drives continuous improvement in testing practices to support a seamless experience for students, faculty, and staff.

Success in this role will be demonstrated through:

• Increased automated test coverage.
• Reduced manual regression effort.
• Earlier defect detection.
• Improved pipeline reliability.
• Faster release validation.
• Greater visibility into release risk.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; equivalent combination of education and professional experience will be considered.
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in software quality assurance with a primary focus on test automation.
• Strong proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages used for test automation (Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or C#).
• Hands-on experience designing and implementing test automation frameworks with tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or comparable solutions.
• Experience with API testing using tools/frameworks such as Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
• Experience defining automated quality gates in CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with test reporting, observability, or engineering-quality dashboards.
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms and practices (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies and active participation in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills combined with a high attention to detail.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a fully remote, cross-functional environment.
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and performance/load testing tools is highly desirable.
• Prior experience in higher education, edtech, or SaaS product environments is a plus.
