Role Description

Softtek Government Solutions is currently seeking an Intermediate Software Test Engineer to serve as part of an Agile team in support of digital transformation through rapid development of proof of concepts, integration of emerging technologies into mission applications, and supporting modernized, cloud-based applications in production for a government client.

• Support the continued development and testing of systems using Agile methodologies.
• Support the deployment of selected features and business capabilities prioritized by operational and support offices within agreed upon schedule timeframes.
• Provide enhancement, development, and deployment sustainment of applications supporting IT modernization using emerging technologies.
• Assess and evaluate the use of various emerging technologies for fit and feasibility in supporting continually evolving missions.
• Determine where initiatives fall along the innovation/experimentation spectrum based on the Agile Roadmap and high priority backlog items.
• Build an Innovation Factory that provides a repeatable framework for assessing, evaluating, and implementing new ideas and technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information technology (IT), or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of experience.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust suitability determination.
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Experience with tooling: Selenium, JMeter, JUnit, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Mobile/Web Application testing experience.
• Familiarity with Flutter/Dart testing.
• Cloud automation experience.
• Familiarity with Agile frameworks.
• Working knowledge of test management software tooling.
• Experience working with CI/CD pipeline (Jenkins) to monitor/implement test scripts (JUnit).

• Active Client BI.
• Experience with federal government clients.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with an ability to express and document complex technical concepts in business terms.
• Ability to communicate effectively with technical staff, non-technical staff, and end-users for requirements gathering, testing, training, and outcome validation.
• Excellent team-oriented interpersonal and communication skills.
• Understanding of project planning and project management techniques.
• High caliber tester; proactive in hunting for bugs and issues in applications.
• Reliable, takes ownership, and able to act quickly under tight timelines.
• Automation background is a plus, but primarily looking for someone proficient in manual testing.
