[Hiring] Quality Assurance Engineer @Canidium

Role Description

The Quality Assurance Engineer is a hands-on, critical role dedicated to ensuring the quality, functional accuracy, and data integrity of enterprise software solutions built on the Pricefx platform.

• Working inside an Agile delivery team alongside Solution Architects, Configuration Engineers, Integration Engineers, and Project Managers.
• Responsible for validating user stories, verifying complex pricing logic, performing regression checks, and ensuring data transfers across integrated systems meet technical and business specifications.
• Requires a blend of analytical thinking, strict attention to detail, strong SQL data validation skills, and experience with enterprise SaaS solutions.

Test Planning & Execution

• Review functional requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to formulate comprehensive test cases and scenarios.
• Execute end-to-end functional testing across all project phases, including Sprint Testing, System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support, and Post-Go-Live verification.
• Verify complex pricing models, rebate structures, price grids, quotes, and analytics logic within the Pricefx application.
• Validate data integration pipelines (ETL/REST APIs) between Pricefx and upstream/downstream enterprise systems (SAP, Salesforce, CRM/ERP).

Defect Analysis & Reproducibility

• Identify, document, and track software defects with precision using Jira and modern test management tools.
• Ensure every logged defect is 100% reproducible by detailing exact source data, configuration details, step-by-step reproduction instructions, and expected vs. actual outcomes.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on test failures and collaborate directly with Configuration and Integration Engineers to verify resolved issues.

Requirements Validation & Quality Collaboration

• Critically evaluate user stories to identify logical contradictions, ambiguous edge cases, or missing acceptance criteria prior to build completion.
• Assist business users and client stakeholders during UAT by preparing sample test data, test scripts, and guidance.
• Maintain and expand a structured regression test suite to support ongoing delivery sprints and platform releases.
• Participate in regular defect triage meetings and stand-ups to provide clear quality updates to technical leads and project managers.

Qualifications

• Professional Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience in software quality assurance and testing, with a focus on enterprise SaaS platforms.
• Domain & Application Expertise: Experience testing rule-heavy, data-intensive software applications such as Pricing, CPQ, ERP, or Sales Performance Management solutions.
• Data Validation Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Excel for backend data verification, source-to-target data comparison, and payload validation.
• API & Integration Testing: Proven experience validating Web Services and REST APIs (using tools such as Postman) and JSON/XML data payloads.
• Tooling: Hands-on proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and integrated test management systems (Zephyr, Xray, or Azure DevOps).
• Communication: Excellent written and spoken English, with a demonstrated ability to articulate technical issues clearly to both technical teams and client stakeholders.
• Time Zone Overlap: Ability to maintain at least 4 hours of daily overlap with US business hours.

Requirements

• Direct hands-on testing or configuration experience with the Pricefx platform (Price Setting, Quoting, Analytics, Rebates).
• Formal Pricefx or ISTQB QA certifications.
• Experience testing integrations with major ERP or CRM platforms (SAP ECC/S4HANA, Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle).
• Test automation or comparison scripting experience using Groovy, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).

• Initial Introductory Call: A brief conversation to review your background, communication skills, and engagement availability.
• Practical Working Session (45 Minutes): A live practical exercise where you will review a set of sample pricing user stories, evaluate data results, identify logic contradictions, and write up a reproducible defect report using your standard tools.

Contractor Compensation & Engagement Terms

Proposed contract rates for this engagement depend on experience and scope of deliverables. As an independent contractor, services will be provided on an invoice basis without eligibility for employee benefits or bonus programs.
