Role Description

As a QA Engineer, you will focus on testing and ensuring the quality of their platform through manual and automated testing.

Take ownership for design, implementation, evolution, and execution of testing strategy for a highly complex and constantly evolving system.
Automate that strategy where it makes sense using various languages, test tools, or frameworks.
Manually test features to ensure they remain at a high standard.
Use your knowledge of testing to influence better software design, promote good engineering practice, bug prevention strategies, testability, security, scalability, reliability, and other advanced quality concepts across complex products.
Be an advocate for quality, influencing the team to build quality into the release pipeline while always seeking to increase productivity by choosing the best test approach for each context.
Liaise with senior technical staff and automated test engineers to explore and suggest innovative strategic and tactical technical solutions to promote the continuous evolution of the testing ecosystem of your product/platform.
Articulate risk and confidence to inform team decision on product release readiness.
Partner with other roles to troubleshoot and resolve issues throughout the life cycle.

Typical day-to-day responsibilities:

Discover bugs and determine endpoint responses and payloads to troubleshoot the issue.
Review JIRA tickets for lower environments (Development and Staging).
Attend standup.
Test priority tickets and pass/fail them on acceptance criteria, adjust JIRA board accordingly.
Communicate with developers and create bug tickets when identified.
Review production after a release to ensure stability.
Identify opportunities for automation testing and assist in the creation of automated tests.

Qualifications

3+ years of work experience within an agile software development environment.
2+ years experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium. Creating and managing test dashboards.
Experience creating test plans for customer-facing applications and more advanced internal testing.
Experience with Vue, Postman, and a database query language (SQL or MySQL).
Experience in web-related technologies such as Web Services in REST, SOAP, GraphQL, JSON, XML, FTP, and Webhooks.
Experience with logging applications like Sentry/Grafana.
