Role Description
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented QA/QC Reviewer to serve as the final quality gate within a fast-paced Design Department focused on furniture, millwork, and hospitality manufacturing. This role is critical to ensuring that every shop drawing delivered meets strict standards for accuracy, completeness, and presentation before reaching internal stakeholders or clients. You will act as the bridge between Designers and Design Leadership—owning the systematic review process so leadership can focus on higher-level technical direction and project execution. This is not a design role, but it requires a strong design background and deep understanding of construction, materials, and shop drawings.
What You’ll Own

Shop Drawing Quality Control (Core Function)

Review all shop drawings against:

Internal QC checklists
-
Validate:

Dimensions, materials, finishes, and construction details

Execute:

Tier 1 (Critical 15) checklist on every drawing
-
Tier 2 (Full Review) for complex/high-priority projects
-
Provide clear, actionable markups in Bluebeam (no vague feedback)
-
Return drawings for revision with structured feedback
-
Perform final validation reviews before escalation to Design Manager
-
Version Control & Accuracy Enforcement
-
Confirm designers are working from the latest spec package
-
Conduct side-by-side comparisons (V2+) to ensure all redlines are implemented
-
Flag missing or unclear specs → route to RFI (never assume)
-
Cross-check all:
-
Finish codes
-
Material callouts
-
Fabric selections
-
Factory Drawing QC
-
Perform second-pass reviews on factory drawings
-
Ensure alignment between:

Approved shop drawings
-
Factory outputs
-
Validate:
-
Veneer directions
-
Seams
-
Hardware
-
Finishes
-
Escalate discrepancies to Design Manager
-
Documentation & Reporting
-
Maintain and complete:

Drawing Review Log (every submission)

QC Error Log (track trends and patterns)
-
Sign off on all QC approvals (no drawing moves forward without it)
-
Deliver:

Weekly QC reports (error trends, repeat issues, designer patterns)
-
Organize all QC documentation in Google Drive
-
Process Enforcement & Continuous Improvement
-
Enforce QC workflows (including submission deadlines)
-
Prevent bypassing of QC processes
-
Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements
-
Contribute to department-wide quality standards and process optimization

Qualifications

2+ years in:

Strong ability to read:
