Role Description

One of our top clients, a well-established Japanese company currently undergoing a major digital transformation within one of Japan’s most important and globally influential industries, is looking for an experienced QA Engineer to help ensure the quality and reliability of its next-generation DX SaaS platform. This position will play a critical role in developing testing strategies, implementing test automation, improving software quality, and establishing modern AI-assisted testing practices across engineering teams.

You will work closely with Software Engineers, Tech Leads, and Engineering Managers to identify potential risks, prevent defects, and ensure that new features meet quality standards before reaching customers. Join a new global team driving innovation and making a large societal impact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience designing and executing tests for web applications.
• Hands-on experience implementing and maintaining automated testing using tools such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar frameworks.
• Experience with exploratory testing and risk-based test planning.
• Experience performing quality assurance within Agile software development teams.
• Ability to identify software defects, evaluate risks, and validate application behavior against requirements.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to software quality.
• Ability to communicate testing results and quality risks clearly.
• Collaborative approach to working with developers and other engineering stakeholders.
• Curiosity and willingness to explore new testing technologies and methodologies.
• Ability to provide constructive feedback and challenge unclear requirements when necessary.

Requirements

• Practical experience using AI-assisted tools for test design and automated test code generation.
• Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated test cases and test scripts.
• Experience identifying defects, incorrect assumptions, and specification deviations in AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of how AI-assisted testing can improve productivity while maintaining software quality.

• Employment Type: Full-time employee
• Annual Salary: ¥5,500,000 – ¥9,000,000 (depending on experience and qualifications)
• Remote Work: Remote-first within Japan (occasional office attendance may be required)

• Core Time: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
• Standard Working Hours: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM (7.5 working hours per day)
• Salary Review: Once per year
