Role Description
Documo is looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer to champion quality across our document workflow platform. You’ll design and execute test strategies, drive AI-powered test automation, and ensure our cloud fax, IDP, eSign, and API products meet the highest standards of reliability and compliance.
This role sits at the intersection of traditional QA rigor and modern AI tooling. You’ll use AI to accelerate test generation, uncover edge cases, and improve coverage across a regulated healthcare environment.
What You’ll Do
-
Design, write, and maintain test plans, test cases, and regression suites for Documo’s product suite (cloud fax, IDP, eSign, API integrations)
-
Leverage AI-powered tools (e.g. Claude Code, Playwright, etc.) to accelerate test generation, identify coverage gaps, and reduce manual effort
-
Use large language models to assist with edge case discovery, test data synthesis, and exploratory testing scenarios
-
Execute manual, automated, and exploratory testing across web, API, and backend systems
-
Partner with Development and Product to review requirements, identify quality risks early, review & improve merge requests for test completeness and accuracy, and shift testing left in the SDLC
-
Build and maintain CI/CD-integrated test automation pipelines using tools like Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress
-
Validate HIPAA compliance requirements and data security standards throughout the testing lifecycle
-
Track, document, and triage defects in Jira; communicate clearly on severity and impact
-
Analyze test results and use AI-assisted analytics to identify patterns, flaky tests, and systemic issues
-
Continuously evaluate and adopt new AI-powered QA tooling to improve efficiency and coverage
-
Contribute to a quality culture by mentoring teammates and advocating for testability in design
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 1 year using AI-assisted testing tools or workflows
-
Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent
-
Comfortable using AI tools (Claude Code, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to generate tests, synthetic data, or triage defects
-
Strong understanding of API testing (REST/SOAP) using tools like Postman or similar
-
Familiar with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or equivalent) and integrating automated tests into build workflows
-
Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams with Jira or similar project tracking tools
-
Proficiency with test management systems within Jira (e.g., Xray, Zephyr) or standalone tools such as TestRail or similar platforms
-
Detail-oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills—you can clearly explain what’s broken and why it matters
-
Self-starter who thrives in a fully remote environment with a high degree of ownership and accountability
-
Technically curious and coachable—you stay current on QA best practices and emerging AI tooling
-
Solid understanding of application data flows & SQL databases; familiarity with Kafka and Redis is considered a strong advantage
Nice to Haves
-
Experience testing in healthcare, finance, or other HIPAA/SOC 2-regulated environments
-
Background in document management, cloud fax, health IT, or API-heavy SaaS products
