Role Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented QA Engineer with 1.5–2 years of experience to help us maintain the reliability of our AI-driven clinical documentation platform. At Soulside, quality isn't just about catching bugs; it’s about ensuring that the AI agents providing clinical insights and documentation are accurate, secure, and intuitive for providers. This role is ideal for someone who excels at manual testing and is eager to build and maintain automated test suites to support our fast-moving engineering team.
What You’ll Do
-
Test Planning & Case Design:
Create detailed, well-structured test cases and comprehensive test suites that cover functional, regression, and edge-case scenarios for our AI-powered features.
-
End-to-End Testing:
Take ownership of manual testing for our web-based clinical dashboards, ensuring complex workflows (like audio recording and AI note generation) work flawlessly.
-
Automation Growth:
Design and implement automated test scripts for critical paths using modern frameworks (e.g., Cypress or Playwright) to supplement manual efforts.
-
API Validation:
Test our backend integrations and data states to ensure seamless communication between our frontend and backend applications.
-
Compliance & Accuracy:
Validate that AI-generated clinical notes meet specific compliance criteria.
-
Bug Lifecycle Management:
Identify, document, and track bugs to resolution, collaborating closely with developers to ensure quick fixes without regressions.
-
Release Readiness:
Perform smoke and sanity testing for frequent feature releases to maintain a stable production environment.
Qualifications
-
1.5–2+ years of professional QA experience, preferably within a startup or a product-led environment.
-
Manual Testing Expert: A sharp eye for UI/UX inconsistencies and a "break-it" mindset for complex logical workflows.
-
Automation Foundations: Hands-on experience or a strong understanding of automation tools like Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium.
-
Technical Literacy: Comfort using Chrome DevTools, Postman for API testing, and basic knowledge of SQL/database validation.
-
Adaptability: The ability to work in a fast-paced environment where requirements can evolve as we refine our AI models.
-
Clear Communication: Capability to write concise, reproducible bug reports and clear test plans.
Bonus Points
-
Experience testing audio processing or media recording features.
-
Familiarity with React, TypeScript, or Spring Boot environments.
-
Previous experience in HealthTech or AI-native products.
-
Understanding of HIPAA compliance or data security standards.
Benefits
-
Direct Impact: You’ll be the gatekeeper of quality for a product that is directly reducing burnout for behavioral health professionals.
-
High Ownership: As an early QA hire, you’ll help shape our testing culture and choose the tools we use.
-
AI Exposure: Get hands-on experience testing real-world agentic systems and Large Language Model (LLM) outputs.
