Role Description
This role involves testing software to ensure functionality, reliability, and user experience. As a software test engineer, you will:
- Assist developers with evaluating software developed for veterans' affairs
- Help build a test plan with test cases based on user stories
- Generate data and execute test cases using manual processes
- Document results and communicate defects to the development team
- Have opportunities to gain skills in automation and development

Salary Range is $44-55K depending on experience.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or other engineering or technical discipline, or 8 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education
- Must be authorized to work in the US and lived in the US for the last 3 consecutive years
- Ability to obtain a lower to moderate level Clearance
Requirements
- Passion for manual testing
- Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and identify and test related items
- Experience writing test plans – team members are expected to both write and run tests
- 1+ year(s) of experience with testing
- Experience with test methodologies, QA process, and the software release cycle
- Knowledge of Operating Systems and networking
- Knowledge of release procedures and software defect tracking
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts
- Ability to apply appropriate test methodologies including writing test plans and test cases
- Experience with JIRA
