Role Description
In this remote position, we are seeking a visionary Lead SDET to spearhead our quality engineering department. The ideal candidate has deep roots in core testing principles but is at the forefront of using AI agents to solve the "maintenance trap" and accelerate sprint velocity.
Your Responsibilities

AI Integration

AI Tooling Architecture: Evaluate and implement next-gen AI testing platforms (e.g., mabl, Testim, or autonomous agentic frameworks) to achieve self-healing test suites.

Workflow Automation: Design "Agentic Workflows" where AI agents handle test data generation, autonomous bug triaging, and documentation.

Velocity Optimization: Partner with QA team, DevOps and Engineering Leads to integrate AI gates into the CI/CD pipeline, reducing feedback loops from hours to minutes.

Automation Engineering

Framework Evolution: Maintain and scale existing frameworks (Javascript, Selenium, and Appium) while systematically migrating brittle components to AI-driven locators.

Cross-Platform Testing: End-to-end testing across Web, Mobile (iOS/Android), and API layers.

Performance & Security: Lead the implementation of automated performance "smoke tests" and basic security vulnerability scanning within the automation suite.

Quality Mentorship & Process

Lead the STLC: Drive the full Software Testing Life Cycle, from requirement analysis to production release.

Mentorship: Assist in code reviews for automation scripts and mentor junior engineers on prompt engineering for QA and advanced debugging.
Qualifications
-
Core Automation: 6-7 years of experience in test automation using Python, Java, or Javascript/TypeScript.

AI/LLM Knowledge: Hands-on experience using LLMs for test case generation or working with autonomous AI agents that utilize self-healing locators.

Testing Breadth: Proven expertise in:

Functional Testing: Regression, Sanity, and Integration.

Non-Functional: Load, Stress, and Accessibility (A11y) testing.
-
API Testing: Proficient with Postman, RestAssured, or similar.
Requirements

2+ years in a Lead/Senior role: Experience leading a team of testers.

Agile Mastery: Deep understanding of Sprint working and how to use AI to inflate Sprint Velocity.

Analytical Mindset: Ability to look at a test failure and distinguish between a "flaky" environment, an AI hallucination, and a genuine product defect.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience building custom AI wrappers for testing (using LangChain or similar).

Certification in Cloud Platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

Background in Data-Driven Testing and managing large-scale synthetic datasets.
