Role Description

The IT Supervisor oversees operational activities and daily work assignments of staff, ensuring that appropriate resources are available to meet the needs of projects focused on required organizational goals and objectives.

  • Provide supervision, leadership, and guidance for a team of IT professionals.
  • Promote and encourage staff to provide great customer service to all technology users, both internal and external.
  • Oversee the IT operations and day-to-day tasks of the team’s IT portfolio.
  • Design system solutions to operational issues and meet the needs of technology users.
  • Work with clinical and/or business partners on products and technologies already in production for maintenance, enhancement, optimizations, etc.
  • Continue to improve operations through process improvement and staff performance management.
  • Proactively evaluate and implement team processes and procedures to optimize team productivity.
  • Define and maintain policies and procedures for developing proper support procedures for hardware, software, and/or infrastructure.
  • Develop, review, and track service level agreements on a regular basis to continually increase user satisfaction.
  • Provide career conversations, on-time performance reviews, and technical direction for direct staff.
  • Interact with other IT Supervisors to resolve difficult technical issues.
  • Perform personnel actions including hiring, promotions, performance appraisals, timesheets, disciplinary actions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
  • Occasional after-hours and weekend work to perform tasks that cannot be done during business hours.
  • Back up the Manager for operations or meetings as needed.
  • May be required to participate in the on-call rotation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • 7 or more years experience in healthcare technology (preferred), and/or other industry technology.
  • At least 3 years experience managing a team of technical professionals.
  • Hands-on experience with technology strongly preferred.

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work requirements and operational issues.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to lead projects of small to mid-size complexity with only general oversight management.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and able to quickly diagnose issues.
  • Excellent listener.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
