Role Description

We seek a highly skilled and experienced Technical Project Manager – Onboarding + Implementation to join our dynamic team at Echelon Risk + Cyber, a leading cybersecurity consulting firm. This team member will be ready to roll up their sleeves and identify opportunities for our clients and for Echelon internally with unquestioned integrity. This team member will be passionate about cybersecurity and ready to use their knowledge to be an Entrepreneurial Problem Solver and work alongside their Echelon team members to build creative solutions.

The Technical Project Manager – Onboarding + Implementation owns the Discovery, onboarding, and implementation phase of vCISO and managed services engagements at Echelon Risk + Cyber. From contract handoff through transition into ongoing service delivery, this role translates the contracted scope into an actionable project plan, coordinates internal and client resources, manages communication and documentation, and drives dependencies to completion so the services purchased by the client are successfully operationalized.

This role is the primary client point of contact during onboarding and will ensure the successful onboarding of cybersecurity advisory and technical services by coordinating resources and efforts across cybersecurity service teams. The Technical Project Manager must have strong managed services fluency and cybersecurity experience.

This is a remote position from anywhere in Mexico.

What You Will Do

  • Client Onboarding & Implementation Ownership
    • Own the onboarding and implementation lifecycle from contract handoff through transition into ongoing service delivery.
    • Review and understand the contract and Statement of Work, then translate the purchased services, deliverables, timelines, assumptions, dependencies, and client responsibilities into a comprehensive onboarding project plan with clear milestones, owners, required inputs, and target dates.
    • Establish onboarding success criteria and transition-readiness requirements while maintaining accountability across both Echelon and client teams.
    • Proactively identify and resolve or escalate risks, blockers, delays, scope concerns, and other issues that could impact successful onboarding.
  • Client Communication & Experience
    • Serve as the primary client point of contact during onboarding and own client communication, including weekly status updates covering progress, decisions, risks, outstanding actions, and next steps.
    • Schedule and facilitate onboarding meetings, working sessions, stakeholder interviews, and other required client interactions.
    • Understand and document the client's go-forward expectations for communication, reporting, governance, meeting cadence, dashboards, escalation paths, and ongoing service interaction.
    • Ensure expectations established during the sales and contracting process are understood by the delivery team and appropriately reflected in onboarding and ongoing delivery.
  • Internal Resource Coordination & Operational Setup
    • Identify and coordinate the internal resources and subject matter experts required across vCISO, managed services, engineering, advisory, procurement, and other teams; ensure each understands the scope, client expectations, responsibilities, and deadlines.
    • Partner with the PMO to ensure Kantata project setup and invoicing structure accurately reflect the contracted scope, workstreams, and billing requirements, and ensure the delivery team understands where and how to book time.
    • Coordinate with procurement and technical teams to ensure required licenses, software platforms, and tooling are purchased, provisioned, deployed, configured, and accessible as needed for service readiness.
    • Maintain visibility into outstanding internal and client-owned actions, drive follow-up, and escalate resource constraints, scheduling conflicts, or delivery risks as appropriate.
  • Client Workspace & Engagement Documentation
    • Establish and maintain the client's centralized documentation through onboarding, engagement documentation, project visibility, and ongoing collaboration.
    • Document key engagement information within the workspace, including the client environment, technology stack, business and security requirements, operating model, stakeholder/contact list, roles, decision-makers, and escalation contacts.
    • Track and organize required documentation, access, evidence, approvals, milestones, outstanding actions, and onboarding dependencies, keeping the workspace complete, current, and ready to support transition into ongoing service.
  • Governance, Reporting & Transition
    • Establish and document the client's agreed-upon go-forward governance and service model, including reporting, dashboards, recurring meetings, communication channels, escalation procedures, and client responsibilities.
    • Confirm required systems, access, documentation, contacts, governance processes, and delivery resources are in place before transition to ongoing service.
    • Coordinate the formal transition into managed services or vCISO delivery and provide the PEM / Technical Engagement Manager and ongoing delivery team with a complete engagement handoff.
    • Capture lessons learned and continuously improve the onboarding methodology, templates, and client experience.
  • Solution Value & Client Expansion Awareness
    • Develop a strong understanding of the services purchased and the business outcomes they are intended to support, reinforcing that value throughout onboarding.
    • Help defend and reinforce the solution when questions arise regarding scope, approach, deliverables, or value.
    • Maintain awareness of client priorities, challenges, and unmet needs, and surface potential expansion opportunities to the Strategic Accounts Director & vCISO and appropriate account stakeholders.
