[Hiring] Summer Intern, Program Operations @IIIIIIUS

Role Description

We are hiring Program Operations, Program Delivery and Program Outreach Interns who support the planning, execution, and monitoring of energy efficiency programs within ICF’s Utility, Programs and Services division. These roles provide hands-on experience in program operations and offer a valuable opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a professional setting.

As an intern, you will:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Contribute to the development of high-quality products and services.
• Gain exposure to major projects and client interactions.
• Build foundational skills in project management, communication, and teamwork.
• Deepen your understanding of energy-efficient technologies and utility-sponsored programs.

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full-time internship that begins in early June 2027. Pay is expected to be $23 per hour for undergraduate students and $28 per hour for graduate students. These roles can be remote, with preference for those near Houston, TX; Missouri; Arkansas; Chicago, IL. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation nor housing assistance.

Qualifications

• By start date, a minimum of 30 completed college-level credit hours is required, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Must be able to pass any required background check(s), which may include drug screening.
• Due to contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Work Authorization is required.

Requirements

• A completed bachelor’s degree and enrollment verification or 9 credits completed in a graduate program in Business Administration, Economics, Project Management, Energy Management, or a related field.
• Strong organizational, time management, task prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and collaborative communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Experience with program coordination, documentation, research, data collection, market analysis, or sales planning projects.
• Familiarity with data analytics and visualization tools such as Power BI, Power Query, or VBA.
• Interest in energy efficiency, market research, and sales strategy; familiarity with HVAC, water heating, space heating, kitchen equipment, or lighting technologies is a plus.

Benefits

• Pay range for this position based on full-time employment is: $31,272.00 - $64,326.00.
