Role Description

In this high-profile role, you will be the overall program leader for key engineering initiatives from concept to execution. You will work across all of engineering and business to meet overall initiative and/or product objectives.

Qualifications

• Solid knowledge of technical program management
• Outstanding track record of delivering sophisticated software/hardware programs
• Ability to drive a schedule for business planning towards growth that aligns with business strategy

Requirements

• Defines, plans and drives projects and program plans based on management and senior technical guidance
• Scopes technical feasibility of new products by clarifying and analyzing requirements with SW/HW Architects, Technical Leads and Engineers
• Develops program schedule by considering various Driver, SW Stack components and HW/FW dependencies
• Negotiates and creates a staffing plan that supports the schedule
• Establishes formal program management artifacts including a plan of record, statements of work, project/program timelines, budget, scope, performance, and quality KPIs
• Plans for risks in the development path, identifies prevention methods, and addresses them to save on engineering costs
• Comfortable working with senior executives and addressing the needs and requirements from AMD's Engineering, Product Management and Customer Engineering organizations

Preferred Experience

• Good understanding of requirements management, documentation management, and defect management
• Ability to grasp concepts during discussions and turn minutes into action items
• Able to communicate concepts and processes with stakeholders
• Analytical, self-motivated, organized, detailed-oriented and results-oriented
• Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with multiple people and teams
• Experience working in a high-pressure environment with competing priorities and tight turnaround times
• Engineering background preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Project, JIRA, Confluence and Excel is an asset
• Experience with Agile methodology

Academic Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering
• Formal Project Management education, PMP certified
