Role Description

The Senior Resource Manager is responsible for ensuring the creative and strategy departments are appropriately staffed and resourced to deliver high-quality work across types of projects. This role partners with multiple departments and roles within the agency, including creative, operations, production, and account teams to align talent with project needs, manage freelance resources, and support the smooth delivery of creative work.

The role sits at the intersection of creative, production, and operations, helping balance workloads, maintain visibility into team capacity, and quickly source specialized freelance talent when needed. This person plays a key role in maintaining the health of the creative organization by ensuring projects are staffed effectively, timelines are supported, and teams have the right resources to execute against ambitious creative briefs.

The role reports into the Director of Operations. It can be remote with an East Coast work schedule orientation. Some travel may be required for team meetings or larger initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Resourcing:
  • Manage day-to-day resourcing for the creative department, flexing to support with strategy and production as needed.
  • Partner closely with the Chief Creative Officer and others around the agency, including account, to align project needs with available internal talent and external resources.
  • Maintain visibility into current team capacity, workload detail, and upcoming project needs.
  • Help balance workloads to ensure sustainable pacing and optimal team performance.
• Freelance Talent Management:
  • Source, onboard, and manage freelance talent when additional support is required, partnering closely with CCO for skillsets and talent level needed.
  • Maintain and continuously develop a freelance talent database across disciplines including creative, strategy, and production.
  • Manage outreach, availability checks, and onboarding logistics for freelance talent.
  • Coordinate with account and operations on freelance budgets to maintain positive account margins.
  • Track freelancer performance and maintain relationships with top freelance partners.
• Delivery Support:
  • Support creative, strategy, and production teams in ensuring projects are staffed appropriately to meet delivery timelines.
  • Monitor project pipelines and flag potential resource gaps early.
  • Help resolve resourcing challenges across multiple, concurrent programs.
  • Collaborate with creative, production, and account leadership to align staffing with project phases and deliverables.
• Operational Support:
  • Support operations with various delivery-related tasks when needed.
  • Assist with maintaining resourcing documentation, staffing plans, and project tracking systems.
  • Help improve workflows related to resourcing, freelancer onboarding, and delivery coordination.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of agency delivery processes.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in resource management, delivery management, operations, or project management within a creative, experiential, or advertising agency.
• Experience managing creative team resourcing and freelance staffing.
• Strong understanding of creative workflows and production timelines, particularly within experiential or brand activation environments.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across fast-moving projects.
• Strong relationship-building skills with both internal teams and freelance partners.
• Experience using project management or resourcing tools such as Float.
