Role Description

Under minimal direction, the Senior Project Manager is responsible for managing multiple development, infrastructure and software acquisition projects of various degree in complexity and size through the project life cycle and completing the projects on schedule, in quality, and with business sponsors satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Provides a single point of contact for those projects.
• Takes projects from original concept through final implementation leading cross-functional teams and reports progress throughout the project.
• Develops Project Charter, project plans (using MS Project), project estimates, and status reports.
• Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and issue resolution.
• Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
• For acquisition projects, manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables, along with project deliverables.
• Provides Project Management guidance to the technical teams.
• Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week.
• Other functions may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a 4 year degree in a directly-related area such as Business Management or Computer Science.
• 5 years of directly-related experience in project management, resource management and/or project assessment techniques; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is desirable.
• Thorough working knowledge of project management methodology.
• Strong knowledge and skills in project planning, tracking, and reporting using Microsoft Project or other tools.
• Strong knowledge and skills in risk and change management.
• Excellent working knowledge of MS applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Access, Project, etc.).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate professionally at all levels within and outside of the organization.
• Able to interact cordially with other employees to accomplish common tasks.
