Role Description

Our client is seeking a hands-on Senior Implementation Project Manager to lead complex, cross-functional implementation initiatives. This person will bring structure, visibility, and momentum to high-priority work involving:

• Enrollment
• Benefit changes
• Renewals
• Client onboarding
• Operational readiness
• Go-live support

What You’ll Do:

• Lead complex implementation projects from planning through go-live, stabilization, and closeout.
• Develop and maintain integrated project plans across multiple workstreams, milestones, dependencies, owners, risks, and decision points.
• Coordinate major enrollment events, member renewals, benefit implementations, client onboarding, orientations, and related readiness activities.
• Partner with teams across enrollment, claims operations, technology, communications, training, participant engagement, compliance, and other business functions.
• Establish and facilitate project governance routines, including kickoff meetings, workstream meetings, status reviews, readiness checkpoints, and executive updates.
• Create clear project reporting, including status updates, milestone trackers, action logs, decision logs, risk and issue registers, and leadership presentations.
• Identify cross-functional dependencies, resource constraints, sequencing challenges, and delivery risks; drive mitigation plans and timely resolution.
• Facilitate go/no-go readiness reviews by consolidating delivery evidence, open issues, risks, contingency plans, and required decisions.
• Coordinate implementation support structures, including command centers or war rooms, when appropriate for the scope and risk of an initiative.
• Support post-implementation stabilization by tracking open actions, escalating concerns, and ensuring an effective transition to operational owners.
• Lead project closeout and lessons learned; contribute insights that strengthen project-management practices, implementation playbooks, and readiness processes.
• Influence stakeholders and drive accountability without direct authority while maintaining strong working relationships across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, project management, operations, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered.
• 7+ years of experience leading complex enterprise projects, implementations, programs, or cross-functional initiatives.
• 2+ years of experience supporting health-plan enrollment, benefit implementation, client onboarding, renewals, operational readiness, or similar initiatives in a healthcare payer, health plan, third-party administrator, benefits administrator, Taft-Hartley fund, or other regulated healthcare environment.
• Experience managing integrated project plans involving multiple functions, workstreams, milestones, dependencies, and stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success leading implementation readiness, go-live planning, launch support, stabilization, or similar high-visibility delivery events.
• Strong project governance, risk management, issue management, change management, and executive-status reporting capabilities.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and facilitation skills.
• Ability to build alignment, resolve competing priorities, and maintain forward progress in a matrixed environment.
• Strong organizational skills, sound judgment, attention to detail, and composure under pressure.
• Comfort working in an environment where processes and PMO practices are evolving.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with health plan enrollment, eligibility, benefits administration, member communications, claims operations, provider/network transitions, or participant engagement.
• Experience with annual enrollment, active enrollment campaigns, benefit changes, renewals, or large-scale member communications.
• Experience working with union-sponsored health plans, Taft-Hartley funds, or multi-employer benefit plans.
• PMP, Lean, Six Sigma, change management, or comparable project/program-management certification.
• Experience improving project governance, implementation playbooks, readiness frameworks, dashboards, templates, or PMO processes.
• Experience leading command centers, war rooms, or other launch-support forums during complex implementation events.
