Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Life and Annuity Manager to lead and manage complex initiatives across the life insurance and annuity landscape. The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise in life and annuity products and a strong understanding of the Third-Party Administrator (TPA) ecosystem, including platforms such as:

• Policy Admin system
• New Business
• Underwriting rules
• Post issue Workflow
• Portals
• Document management systems
• Policy conversions
• Operations

This role demands a seasoned professional with proven project management expertise, capable of driving end-to-end delivery across cross-functional teams, vendors, and client stakeholders. You will be expected to manage scope, timelines, risks, and communications, while aligning with client expectations and strategic business goals.

Experience in working within TPA operating models, managing system integrations, platform upgrades, and implementing digital and AI-based initiatives will be a significant advantage. Strong communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans for life and annuity projects, including scope, timelines, resources, and budgets. Define project objectives and deliverables.
• Product Knowledge: Leverage expertise in life insurance and annuity products to guide project requirements, design, and implementation.
• Resource Management: Manage cross-functional team members and subject matter experts, including definition of objectives, oversight of execution, and evaluation of performance.
• Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, and vendors. Provide regular updates on project status and address any issues.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to industry regulations, standards, and company policies.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks specific to life and annuity projects and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and alignment with financial goals.
• Quality Assurance: Oversee the quality of project deliverables to ensure they meet industry standards and client expectations.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, reports, and change requests.
• Team Leadership: Lead and motivate project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve project-related issues and challenges in a timely and effective manner.

As part of their expanded responsibilities, the Manager will lead the implementation of AI initiatives aligned with business objectives, including:

• Identifying opportunities for AI-driven automation and analytics within ongoing projects
• Collaborating with data science and engineering teams
• Ensuring AI solutions are integrated seamlessly into existing platforms and workflows such as LifePRO, LDS, portals, and operations systems

Qualifications

• Education: Must have BS degree and 5-10 years of experience managing technology projects. Agile/Scrum certification and/or PMI certification preferred.
• Experience: Proven experience as a Delivery Manager with a focus on life insurance and annuity products implementation and TPA operations. Demonstrated success in managing complex projects in the insurance industry.
• Skills: Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
• Knowledge: In-depth understanding of life insurance and annuity products, industry regulations, and best practices.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong problem-solving abilities, analytical thinking, ability to work in a team, strong organizational skills, and attention to detail.

Benefits

• The posted base salary range is the hiring base salary range for this role: $130K-$140K.
• Final offers are based on several factors, including the candidate's skills and experience, internal pay equity, work location, market conditions for the role, and the specific scope and responsibilities of the position.
