Role Description

Join the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) and be part of a team committed to creating a positive impact in the lives of fellow Texans. The Recovery Audit Contract (RAC) team within the OIG Data Reviews is looking for a highly motivated individual to serve as RAC Project Manager (Project Manager II) to effectively drive program initiatives from concept to implementation, including but not limited to new legislation and other policy changes. The RAC Project Manager reports to the RAC Director and performs moderately complex (journey-level) project management work involving:

• Coordination, planning, initiation, and implementation of projects.
• Monitoring the progress and schedule of projects.
• Communicating with project stakeholders, leadership, and other relevant parties.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university in a project management related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a project manager, project coordinator, or program specialist with demonstrated experience supporting or coordinating large, complex projects.
• Project Management Professional Certification and/or Scrum/Agile certification preferred.

Requirements

• Knowledge of health and human services programs, functions, and systems.
• Knowledge of agile project management methodologies, theories, and practices applicable to projects of moderate scope.
• Skill in project management monitoring, addressing changes in scope and budget.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in making critical decisions.
• Ability to evaluate problems and propose alternative and innovative solutions.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Skilled in the use of office equipment and software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio).
• Skill in communicating professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to work in teams that may cross functions, departments, and/or agencies.
• Skill in establishing and maintaining collaborative and effective working relationships with all levels of staff and external stakeholders.
