The PPD™ clinical research business of Thermo Fisher Scientific is a leading provider of global CRO solutions to customers in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, academic and government industries. Our Digital Solutions group is re-designing the clinical research model with purpose-built, CRO-owned technology integrated into every study. Our forward-thinking, AI-enabled solutions accelerate and optimize every phase of the clinical development journey.

Are you passionate about driving innovation in clinical research and digital health? As a Project Manager, Digital Operations (known internally as a Digital Operations Manager, band 6), you’ll play a pivotal role in bringing cutting-edge technologies to life—supporting smarter patient recruitment, streamlined site operations, and high-impact clinical trial delivery. In this role, you won’t just manage projects, you’ll help shape how digital solutions transform the clinical research landscape.

This position is a remote role for the East Coast US or Brazil.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead with impact: Own and drive key project management activities that support cross-functional teams delivering digital health solutions (e.g., patient screeners, CTMS, eSource platforms).
  • Bring structure to innovation: Build, maintain, and evolve project plans to ensure seamless execution across timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.
  • Be the connector: Coordinate across internal teams and external partners to keep everyone aligned, informed, and moving forward.
  • Tell the story: Develop clear, insightful project reports and status updates that keep stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Drive financial clarity: Support project financial management through analysis, tracking, and collaboration with functional leads.
  • Make execution happen: Synthesize inputs from across teams to ensure deliverables are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Champion compliance: Ensure all activities meet regulatory standards, SOPs, ICH-GCP guidelines, and project-specific requirements.

Why This Role Matters

You’ll be at the intersection of technology and clinical research, helping accelerate the delivery of therapies to patients by enabling smarter, more efficient digital solutions. Your work will directly support innovation in how clinical trials are conducted worldwide.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with 5+ years of relevant experience in clinical project coordination or operations.
  • A strong foundation in project management principles (time, cost, quality) with an eye for detail and process excellence.
  • Experience working in a Clinical Research or Pharmaceutical environment (highly preferred).
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) concepts and methodologies.
  • Comfort working with tools like Microsoft Office, JIRA, and other digital platforms.
  • Strong communicator—you can translate complex information clearly across diverse audiences.
  • A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with a focus on results and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic financial acumen and confidence working with project budgets and forecasts.
  • Strong English communication skills to present information to all levels of organization.

Requirements

  • Able to communicate, receive, and understand information and ideas with diverse groups of people in a comprehensible and reasonable manner.
  • Able to work upright and stationary for typical working hours.
  • Ability to use and learn standard office equipment and technology with proficiency.
  • Able to perform successfully under pressure while prioritizing and handling multiple projects or activities.
  • May require as-needed travel (0-20%).
  • Location: East Coast US or Sao Paulo Brazil. Relocation assistance is NOT provided.
  • *Must be legally authorized to work in your country of residence without sponsorship.
  • *Must be able to pass a comprehensive background check, which includes a drug screening (US).

Benefits

  • The annual salary range estimated for this position in North Carolina is $75,000-120,000 USD.
  • This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
