Role Description

The project engineer plays a vital role in supporting the Transportation Department’s Street Maintenance Division by managing and overseeing street, sidewalk, and pavement maintenance projects. This position is responsible for contract preparation and administration, coordinating project activities, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and specifications. The project engineer collaborates closely with various teams, conducts site inspections, and communicates effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely and successful project completion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
• 1 to 3 years' experience in architecture, interior design, engineering, construction management or related work
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted
• Valid North Carolina Class C Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record, or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire
