[Hiring] Construction Project Coordinator @Complete Venture Group

Role Description

Complete CDG is a US construction and development group managing commercial fitouts and ground up residential work in New Jersey. We are hiring a Construction Project Coordinator to work directly with the principal as the document, estimating and scheduling engine behind every active job.

This is a broad, high ownership seat. You will touch:

• Estimating and bidding
• Buyout
• Submittals
• Scheduling
• Designer coordination
• Vendor and subcontractor management

You will be working on American projects, in American units, to American drawing conventions. We will teach you the conventions. We will not teach you how to read a drawing.

What you will do

• Estimating:
  • Assemble bid packages and issue invitations to bid
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from drawings and specifications, in imperial units
  • Level and compare subcontractor quotes; identify scope gaps and exclusions
  • Confirm scope directly with vendors — do not assume
• Document control and project management:
  • Track submittals, RFIs, shop drawings and closeout documentation
  • Maintain project files, logs and version control
  • Track drawing revisions and get the current set to the field and the trades
  • Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes and action items
• Scheduling:
  • Build and maintain project schedules and two week lookaheads
  • Track long lead items, material deliveries and trade sequencing
  • Flag slippage and schedule risk early, in writing
• Coordination:
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers and design consultants
  • Help resolve conflicts between architectural, structural and MEP documents
  • Serve as written point of contact for vendors and subs
  • Track contracts, insurance certificates, change orders and pay applications
  • Chase outstanding quotes, submittals and documentation until they land

Compensation

Competitive salary depending on experience, plus a connectivity and equipment allowance.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret construction blueprints, including architectural, structural and MEP drawings
• Background in construction, architecture, engineering, quantity surveying or a closely related field
• Strong written English — you will correspond with US clients, designers and subcontractors every day, and most of this job is writing
• Highly organized with genuine attention to detail; comfortable holding many open items at once
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel especially
• Self directed — able to take an objective and run with it with limited hand holding
• A dedicated home workspace with backup power and a second internet connection
• Willing and able to work 11:00–20:00 SAST, Monday to Friday, to overlap the US morning

Preferred qualifications

• Bluebeam Revu (markup, takeoffs, sets, sessions) or comparable construction document software
• Familiarity with Procore, Autodesk Construction Cloud, PlanGrid or similar
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD or Revit
• Scheduling software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6 or similar)
• Prior estimating or takeoff experience, commercial or residential
• Prior experience working with US, UK or Australian clients across time zones
• Degree or coursework in construction management, quantity surveying, architecture, engineering or building science
