[Hiring] Assistant Project Manager @Convergint

Role Description

Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results-driven, and forward-thinking Assistant Project Manager to support the Integrated Project Management (IPM) team and fixed banking projects. This customer-facing role supports the tactical execution and lifecycle delivery of standardized, multi-site projects while working under Program Manager or Project Manager oversight. The APM coordinates cross-functional activities, manages assigned scope, maintains accurate project controls, and helps deliver safe, quality, on-time, and financially responsible outcomes.

What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”

• Project Delivery and Governance:
  • Lead assigned fixed banking projects or workstreams from kickoff through closeout with Program Manager or Project Manager oversight.
  • Maintain accurate iTrac records, schedules, trackers, risks, decisions, dependencies, and closeout status in accordance with IPM playbooks, RACI assignments, and escalation requirements.
  • Coordinate kickoff, ownership, timelines, resources, and communication across customer stakeholders, CTC teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal functions.
• Execution and Controls:
  • Monitor scope, milestones, labor, cost, material status, quality, and installation progress; promptly escalate risks to schedule, safety, customer satisfaction, or financial performance.
  • Support forecasting, change-order documentation, invoicing readiness, and positive cash flow through timely milestone completion and complete project records.
• Customer, Quality, and Closeout:
  • Serve as the day-to-day liaison for assigned work, provide clear status updates, lead or participate in meetings, and follow through on decisions and action items.
  • Coordinate engineering, programming, procurement, installation, commissioning, QA/QC, corrective actions, and completion evidence for consistent execution.
  • Drive punch-list completion, customer acceptance, final documentation, handoff, lessons learned, and improvements to fixed banking delivery standards.

Qualifications

• Basic project management experience in a technical environment such as electronic security, fire alarm and life safety, building automation, structured cabling, or related systems integration.
• Ability to coordinate multiple concurrent projects, priorities, locations, and stakeholders in a deadline-driven environment.
• Developing knowledge of project financials, job cost reporting, forecasting, change control, and cash-flow drivers.
• Strong written and verbal communication, customer service, organization, problem-solving, and escalation skills.
• Working proficiency with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams; ability to learn iTrac and customer or program tracking tools.
• Ability to read project scope documents, schedules, drawings, bills of material, and completion requirements at a level appropriate to assigned responsibilities.
• Leadership orientation and willingness to guide work, reinforce standards, and support the development of colleagues without requiring direct supervisory authority.

Requirements

• Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience.
• Preferred Experience: 3 to 5 years in engineering, field service, project coordination, or project management. Experience supporting multi-site banking, retail, or other standardized deployment programs is preferred but not required.
• Preferred Technical Background: Experience in one or more of the following: fixed banking equipment, electronic security, video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm and life safety, building automation, structured cabling, or related integrated systems.
• Preferred Credentials: CAPM, PMP coursework, manufacturer training, safety training, or equivalent project delivery credentials are beneficial but not required.
