[Hiring] Assistant Project Engineer @CEI Engineering Associates

Role Description

A Day in the Life of an Assistant Project Engineer:

• Plans, designs, produces, and manages civil planning, reporting, and construction documents from the conceptual phase through the construction phase by utilizing software and modeling programs.
• Completes assigned tasks that aid CEI in achieving its stated long-term strategic objectives.
• Displays an understanding of CEI's Guiding Principles and stated Vision Statement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques and procedures.
• Receives instructions on specific objectives, complex features, and possible solutions.
• Performs work involving conventional plans, technical reports, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
• Assists with preparing and reviewing cost estimates/projects budgets by estimating projected project hours.
• Follows CEI accounting processes including pre-billing forms and review of final invoices.
• Works with Sr. Project Engineer and Project Engineer in developing reports, specifications, and designs for civil or landscape projects.
• Uses computer-assisted engineering and design software to prepare engineering and design documents.
• Communicates with clients, local agencies, peers, and other project team members to address plan changes and provide project status reports.
• Identifies, seeks, and attends continuing education seminars and classes.
• Assists in training and mentoring Civil Designers, other Assistant Project Engineers, and Interns.
• Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering plus 2 years related experience and/or training.
