[Hiring] Technical Product Owner @LMI

1mth ago - LMI is hiring a remote Technical Product Owner. 💸 Salary: $145,000 - $220,000 📍Location: USA

Role Description

We are looking for a Technical Product Owner to take Cadence from its initial pilot into a scalable federal product. You will assume product ownership at the conclusion of the paid pilot, lead its technical evolution within LMI’s Sales Engineering team, and drive the commercial work required to make Cadence successful across the federal market.

This is not a backlog-only product-owner role. You will own the full product lifecycle:

  • Understanding users
  • Setting the product vision
  • Leading delivery
  • Defining the architecture and deployment approach
  • Building the market case
  • Shaping pricing and ROI
  • Leading demos
  • Helping win customers

Responsibilities

  • Own Cadence’s transition from the initial pilot into a repeatable, market-ready federal product.
  • Establish the product vision, roadmap, release plan, backlog, and success measures.
  • Lead a small technical team within Sales Engineering.
  • Translate customer needs into clear epics, user stories, technical requirements, priorities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Guide sprint planning, delivery, and product quality.
  • Spend time with federal program managers, mission owners, and delivery teams to understand current work management.
  • Identify common problems Cadence can solve across DoD and civilian agencies.
  • Define Cadence’s technical architecture and integration strategy.
  • Shape the federal deployment strategy, including FedRAMP, DoD Impact Levels, and security controls.
  • Build the commercial case for Cadence, including target customers, pricing, and implementation approach.
  • Partner across LMI with various teams to identify opportunities and develop customer-specific solutions.
  • Lead Cadence demos, discovery sessions, and technical discussions with customers.
  • Establish product measures that matter: customer adoption, time saved, delivery predictability, and revenue.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in product management, product ownership, technical program management, or solution architecture.
  • Ability to own a product from customer discovery through delivery, adoption, and growth.
  • Strong product judgment and user empathy.
  • Experience leading agile technical teams and managing product backlogs.
  • Commercial instinct and sales leadership.
  • Technical fluency sufficient to lead architecture and implementation discussions.
  • Experience with federal software deployment, including RMF, ATO processes, and FedRAMP.
  • Ability to operate with autonomy in an ambiguous, early-stage product environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance required; active Secret or Top Secret clearance preferred.

Bonus Points For

  • Experience commercializing a federal software product.
  • Background as a software engineer, systems engineer, or technical lead.
  • Experience in government program management or other complex mission operations.
  • Experience with user research, workflow mapping, and human-centered design.
  • Experience building SaaS, low-code/no-code, or enterprise dashboard products.
  • Experience with cloud authorization and deployment across both DoD and civilian-agency environments.

What Success Looks Like

  • Taken ownership of Cadence following the initial pilot and converted the product into a clear, prioritized roadmap.
  • Built and led a small, effective technical team that delivers a reliable product regularly.
  • Validated Cadence’s repeatable value proposition across multiple federal customers.
  • Defined its deployment, security, integration, pricing, packaging, and ROI strategy.
  • Led compelling customer demonstrations that contribute directly to new pipeline and wins.
  • Established Cadence as a commercial LMI product with a credible path to expansion.
