Role Description
As Senior Manager of New Product Development, you will guide customers through formulation and development to help bring innovative, market-leading health and wellness products to life.

Lead customer-facing product development projects from concept through commercialization.

Translate customer ideas, claims, and target profiles into viable product formulations aligned with TopGum’s capabilities and regulatory requirements.

Serve as a primary technical contact for customers, providing guidance on formulation feasibility, ingredient selection, stability, manufacturing considerations, and overall product strategy.

Collaborate closely with NPD to ensure formulation accuracy, efficient handoff, and technical alignment.

Work with Business Development to assess project scope, define requirements, and establish realistic timelines and deliverables.

Partner with Customer Success team to track progress, maintain documentation, and ensure a smooth customer experience.

Lead internal cross-functional meetings to review development status, risks, and next steps.

Evaluate formulation challenges and propose creative, scientifically sound solutions to maintain project momentum.

Review and interpret analytical data, sensory results, and manufacturing trial outcomes to drive decisions and recommendations.

Contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the Product Development team related to processes, tools, documentation, and workflows.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Nutritional Sciences, Chemical Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

5+ years of experience in supplement, nutraceutical, food, or CPG product development.

Proven expertise in dietary supplement formulation, ingredient functionality, and regulatory considerations.

Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of successful customer-facing work.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with cross-functional stakeholders.

Experience working in gummy, confectionary, or nutraceutical manufacturing environments would be considered an asset.

Prior experience in a B2B or contract manufacturing setting.

Familiarity with supplement regulations (e.g., FDA).
