[Hiring] Solution Product Manager, Government @Nearmap

Role Description

Location: Fully remote within the continental United States.

Government agencies do work that genuinely matters - assessing property fairly, planning safer communities, responding when disaster hits. As Solutions Product Manager, Government, you'll own how Nearmap shows up for that work:

• Setting the direction for our government product solutions.
• Getting close to what customers actually need.
• Staying a step ahead of the market and competition.
• Shaping insights into requirements that create real value.

This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution:

• Gather insights, write requirements that stick, drive delivery priorities, and track performance.
• Build deep expertise in geospatial technology and location intelligence.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the Product Owner role for the delivery stream.
• Partner with other senior product leaders to define product requirements and priorities for Government solutions.
• Translate customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Own product metrics and turn them into insights for the broader product organization.
• Dig into call recordings and other signals to surface insights for the wider team.
• Lead backlog grooming, priority refinement, and requirements alignment with the delivery team.
• Build deep expertise across government use cases.
• Develop command of critical areas like property assessment, land development, public safety, and disaster response.
• Regularly connect with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to surface and review customer pain points.
• Talk directly with customers to understand their use and experience of Nearmap's products.
• Share insights with Nearmap stakeholders to spark real action and improvement.
• Connect with ecosystem partners to help raise Nearmap's profile.
• Listen to sales and customer success calls to build a real understanding of customer needs.
• Uphold Nearmap's values and comply with company standards and local statutory requirements.

Qualifications

• 5-10+ years of experience in government, ideally within a government geospatial office.
• Experience with geospatial data and its use in government is a big plus.
• Familiarity with government procurement and how local, state, and federal entities work together.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Requirements

• Ability to build, validate, and pitch a compelling business case in plain language.
• Comfortable with geospatial technology and remote sensing; familiarity with Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products is ideal.
• Ability to write clear requirements for technical teams.
• Track record of managing multiple priorities and stakeholders while meeting deadlines.
• Clear and confident communication across cross-functional teams.
• Ability to extract insights from diverse data.
