[Hiring] Senior Product Test Engineer @Semtech

Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Development Engineer to join our Asia Engineering Team (Taiwan) supporting Signal Integrity Products, LoRa, CAP and Force-Touch Sensing products. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive test solutions for our point-to-point transfer of ultra high-speed data to the optical communication, broadcast television, and professional AV markets. You will collaborate closely with design and characterization teams to ensure product performance, quality, and reliability meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for supporting NPI development from small volume sample up to mass production release.
• Work closely with R&D, Product and Operations team to drive NPI milestones through Final Production Release.
• Develop and optimize Automated Test Equipment (ATE) programs and hardware for production and characterization testing – mostly in Advantest V93000 platform.
• Analyze electrical specifications from device datasheets to create detailed ATE test plans and improve test methodologies.
• Create probe and final test schematics and lead or participate in hardware review meetings.
• Collect and analyze device performance data, establish test limits through temperature characterization, correlating test parameters against system-level performance, and perform production GR&R.
• Support RMA verification and implement appropriate fixes to enhance test quality.
• Identify and drive test time and test cost reductions as well as supporting yield improvement and other sustaining activities such as EQC Fail investigation and documenting best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering (or equivalent).
• 5+ years of experience in test engineering within the semiconductor industry.
• Proficiency in developing test programs and hardware for automated test equipment (ATE).
• Ability to interpret hardware schematics, datasheet parameters, and DFT documents.
• Strong understanding of test methodology, debugging approaches, signal integrity principles, and high-speed analog/mixed-signal testing.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data interpretation to drive yield improvements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Must be a team player.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in English is preferred.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; Master's degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of progressive experience in semiconductor test engineering leadership.
• 3+ years of management experience leading test teams.
• Advanced knowledge of semiconductor test methodologies, equipment platforms, and quality frameworks.
• Experience in semiconductor manufacturing and product development environment required.

Desired Qualifications

• Expertise in V93000 tester platform (SMT7/SMT8) particularly in creating test program development and use of debugging tools.
• Experience with PCB development software tools.
• Proficiency in C/C++/Java programming.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural cross-functional team environment.
• Knowledge of DFT, DFM and 6-sigma principles.
• Strong statistical test background such as PAT, SBL, SYL.
