[Hiring] Senior Product Engineer @Elm AI

Role Description

We’re hiring a Senior Product Engineer to help build Elm AI's core product and agent workflows. This is a high-ownership role for someone who is both deeply technical and strongly product-minded — someone who can move from architecture to implementation to UX decisions, and who cares about building software that is not only powerful, but clear, fast, and durable.

You should be highly fluent in modern software engineering, but also opinionated about what great engineering looks like in an AI-native world:

• How to design systems that work well with agents
• How to build fast feedback loops
• How to use AI tools meaningfully in development
• How to keep quality high while moving quickly

We’re looking for someone who can help us shape both the product and the way we build it.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship product features end-to-end across frontend, backend, and agent-driven workflows
• Design clean, scalable systems and make strong architectural decisions
• Work closely on the core product experience, not just the implementation details
• Improve developer velocity, product quality, and internal tooling
• Contribute to how Elm uses AI-native engineering practices across the stack
• Identify high-leverage opportunities and move toward them without waiting for perfect specs
• Help raise the bar on craft, clarity, and execution across the team

Working Style & Time Overlap

This role is remote, but it requires overlap with U.S. Eastern Time. Today, that typically means:

• Daily standup is around 8:00 PM IST
• We generally expect at least 4 hours of overlap
• In practice, this usually means availability until around 11:30 PM IST

We want to be upfront about this so expectations are clear.

Why This Role

• Top-of-market compensation for the role and location
• A high-trust environment with real ownership
• The chance to do meaningful, high-impact work on a product already in production
• A team that is deeply ambitious, technically serious, and fun to work with
• Several years of runway, backed by top investors
• The opportunity to help shape not just the product, but the future of the company

Perks & Support

• Top percentile compensation
• Learning and development budget — use it for courses, tools, research, learning, or experimentation
• Generous AI / token budgets — use the tools you need, how you want
• Personal spend card for R&D and learning — for experimentation, software, education, or anything that helps you build and learn faster
• A culture that supports sustainable work, both in how we operate and how we build the business
