[Hiring] Senior Product Engineer @WeTravel

Role Description

Many organizers who use WeTravel are small to medium size businesses that start their journey with a lot of passion for the travel itself. Such businesses face a lot of challenges, as they need to learn to operate efficiently, get good at juggling a ton of different pre-trip activities, and, of course, understand how to grow their businesses.

Our team helps such organizers tackle the complexities and growth pains. To facilitate our organizers' growth, we build a framework that provides them good visibility, intuitive workflows, and a bunch of (AI powered) automations that make their life easier.

You’ll join us to bring this framework to the next level, leading projects, and building systems that will help the organizers focus on the right thing, streamline their daily activities, and grow their businesses. A few upcoming projects that will help us make it happen:

• CRM: Build a set of tools that help organizers collect and convert leads/returning customers efficiently.
• Organizer dashboard: Define and implement a dashboard that guides organizers through their important activities.
• Tasks Management: Enable organizers to focus on creating the best experience for their customers through smart workflows & intuitive set-up.

Our success in this domain will both make WeTravel an irreplaceable tool for day-to-day operations, as well as drive the growth of our organizers by giving them access to data insights and helping them engage their leads and past customers effectively.

What you’ll do day-to-day:

• Lead and build features end-to-end: from reviewing user interviews and product design, through architecture and building systems to deployment and monitoring in production.
• Partner closely with our product team to discover user problems and shape their solutions.
• Write high-quality, maintainable code across both frontend (TypeScript/React) and backend (Ruby on Rails).
• Ensure our services are always on by building resilient applications and mitigating incidents as an on-call/incident responder.
• Mentor teammates and contribute to WeTravel’s engineering practices and excellence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software engineering experience (ideally full-stack) with strong product ownership mindset.
• Proficiency in building consumer-facing user experiences at scale, and expertise with at least one modern web application framework, ideally React/React Native.
• Proficiency with building and maintaining component libraries and working with a design system.
• Experience building applications working with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with operating applications in production, monitoring, and on-call responsibilities.
• Excellent communication skills and experience working in multicultural, distributed teams.
• Experience using AI assistants like Cursor, Claude Code, or GitHub Copilot for code generation and testing.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring other engineers.

Requirements

• Experience with Ruby-on-Rails and/or any other back-end language.
• Comfortable with contributing across the full application stack.
• Recent experience in building AI-enabled or Agentic applications.
