Role Description
This Senior Director of Product Management - Twilio Data Substrate will be part of the Data, Identity and Security product team and will drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution for unifying data from disparate systems and data stores into a structured and governed data substrate.
- Define API contracts that standardize data ingestion and governance
- Ensure seamless data accessibility and system health observability metrics
- Align internal teams and customer-facing services
- Thrive in ambiguity and collaborate across R&D and IT teams
- Implement scalable governance frameworks for data-driven decision-making
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, governance, or strategy roles, ideally in large-scale, complex environments
- Deep understanding of data movement, storage, integration, governance, and system observability frameworks
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams to establish data governance frameworks and policies
- Strong knowledge of data management best practices, including security, compliance, and lifecycle management
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), API management, and data engineering
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, drive clarity, and execute in fast-paced environments
- Experience with data cataloging, metadata management, and governance tooling is a plus
- Worked on data platforms, customer engagement platforms, and streaming applications
- Proficiency in the big data ecosystem e.g. Kafka, Spark, Presto/Athena, or similar technologies
- Technically savvy and experienced with cloud, APIs, communications, enterprise software, data reliability, and ETL techniques
- Customer-oriented approach with the ability to understand and articulate solutions for customer challenges
Requirements
- Passion for data, technology, and experience with B2B, SaaS, or technical products
- Familiarity with Customer Data Infrastructure
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred
- Experience shipping products with a user interface component and understanding of design and UX best practices
- Experience partnering with product marketing or marketing

Location
This role will be remote, but is not eligible to be hired in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA.
Travel
You may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.
Compensation
The estimated pay ranges for this role are as follows:
- Based in Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Vermont or Washington D.C.: $223,300.00 - $279,200.00
- Based in New York, New Jersey, Washington State, or California (outside of the San Francisco Bay area): $236,500.00 - $295,600.00
- Based in the San Francisco Bay area, California: $262,700.00 - $328,400.00
This role may be eligible to participate in Twilio’s equity and corporate bonus plan. All roles are generally eligible for health care insurance, 401(k) retirement account, paid sick time, paid personal time off, and paid parental leave.
