[Hiring] Principal Product Manager, Network Economics @BetterHelp

Role Description

As the Principal Product Manager, Network Economics at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. This individual will own the mechanisms that drive therapist compensation and incentives, ensuring clients can find the right therapist quickly.

• Own the incentive system that moves therapist availability toward where clients actually need it, designed to be targeted, measurable, and reversible.
• Own the structure and clarity of the compensation model itself: what a therapist can predict about their earnings, and what the model rewards them for.
• Define what “well supplied” means for a network like ours, and build the tools and features that close the gap.
• Build a compelling and sustainable earnings proposition for therapists, using controlled rollouts and rigorous measurement to learn what actually moves availability.
• Incentivize specific behaviors that create client access, including therapist availability, match acceptance, and continuity of care.
• Analyze and quantify the impact of every change we make, then draw conclusions and plan next steps based on actual data.
• Partner closely with matching, eligibility, member experience, therapist experience, and provider acquisition.
• Work cross-functionally with finance, clinical, legal, marketing, data science, and operations.
• Participate in setting the strategy and long-term direction for the organization.
• Own KPI’s and be obsessed about them.
• In a nutshell: Diagnose, model, design, test, measure, decide, systematize.

Qualifications

• 8-10 years experience in a product role with proven success through measurable impact and increasing responsibilities.
• Super analytical: able to build and defend models with data.
• Deep understanding of unit and business economics.
• Strong understanding of marketplace dynamics and two-sided marketplace business models.
• Sound judgment in ambiguity.
• A track record of driving cross-functional decisions to a conclusion without authority.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills, strong attention to detail.

Requirements

• Experience owning pricing, incentives, payouts, or supply-side economics in a two-sided marketplace.
• Ability to balance business, clinical, and technical considerations in product decisions.
• Ability to differentiate between decisions that should be tested cheaply and those that are critical.
