Role Description

Builders FirstSource (BFS) is embarking on a multi-year business transformation that will enable us to outperform our competition and enable industry transformation. In connection with this initiative, BFS will harmonize our core operations on SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud.

The Manager, IT is the internal BFS technology lead that will oversee the optimal process design of plan to produce in the following solutions:

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud, Private Edition – leveraging the core manufacturing and production functionality; spanning production planning, shop floor control, material management, quality management and control, maintenance management, cost management, production control and analytics.
• SAP S/4HANA Cloud for Manufacturing Planning & Scheduling – drive enterprise collaboration via product planning, change management, and operations by minimizing disruptions via routings, work instructions, and aligning shop floor execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and business process owner(s) to create and develop comprehensive manufacturing and production planning roadmap.
• Lead and manage the SAP Manufacturing and Production Planning processes, including configuration, integration, customization, master data, and reporting.
• Manage and mentor a team of IT Business Analysts and Subject Matter Specialists.
• Develop and monitor objectives and key results (OKRs) for process area, establishing corresponding KPIs.
• Provide regular reports and updates to stakeholders and leadership.
• Leads areas of a project from requirements to execution.
• Follows appropriate agile and/or other development principles.
• Understands where service gaps can occur and helps implement plans to close service delivery gaps.
• Manages resources, including allocation of current resources into organizational priorities.
• Ensures communication of standards.
• Solves complex and escalated aspects of a project as needed.
• Reviews design documentation and may perform coding, debugging, testing, troubleshooting, and threat modeling.
• Stays current on industry trends, implements, and monitors new technologies.
• Maintains long-term relationships with vendors and other third-party resources.
• Collaborates with multi-functional teams to hold technical discussions and solve immediate problems.
• Provides input to leadership team on development priorities and resource allocation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience in Manufacturing and/or Production related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in managing teams.
• 7+ years of experience overseeing configuration warehouse and/or logistics/transportation related process design.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Work Environment / Physical Activity

• Subject to both typical office environment and outside locations with temperature and weather variations.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to travel up to 40% during the multi-year business transformation.
