[Hiring] Freelance Data and AI Product Manager @Projects by IF

Role Description

In this role you will work alongside experienced AI/ML Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers and Product Managers to prototype and bring to MVP the data and AI components of new city services for residents.

• Your role will be hands-on, meaning you will be scoping and defining features and roadmaps to help cities go from ideas to prototypes to MVPs.
• You will also take a role in coaching the city teams, some of whom will be creating their own AI prototypes: e.g product coaching and guidance.
• You will be responsible for scoping: researching appropriate solutions, assessing feasibility, and ideating and designing suitable data and AI solutions.
• There will also be opportunities to get involved in broader aspects of the program, for example scoping aspects of the city service and exploring approaches to address potential risks introduced through the application of AI and data.

Qualifications

• Experience and confidence of key core AI concepts and technologies.
• Experience in scoping, prototyping and launching data and AI-enabled products and/or product features.
• Experience in defining and refining problem statements.
• Experience in leading solution ideation sessions.
• Experience in discovering and documenting technical, organisational and user requirements.
• Ability to bring clarity when defining prototyping scope and objectives, while driving consensus among stakeholders and team members.
• Ability to work with engineers and data scientists to scope technical work.
• Ability to support feasibility assessments.
• Ability to actively identify potential blockers and risks and finding ways to remove/mitigate them and ensuring they are being addressed in our process.
• Confidence in communicating technical concepts to non-technical team members and stakeholders.
• Confidence in stakeholder engagement and coaching.
• Confidence in driving team alignment, maintaining focus and momentum through shared ways of working and rituals.
• Ability to perform professional activities in Portuguese.

• Broader experience working with data, such as:
• Working with unstructured data, i.e., free text.
• Working with data in various languages.
• Working with geospatial data, including satellite data.
• Working with image data (for the purposes of computer vision), including video data.
• Broader experience working in city and/or local government.
• Broader experience in Responsible AI.
• Broader experience working in complex projects with competing objectives.
