Role Description
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Director of AI & ERP Systems to lead the evolution of our core ERP platforms into intelligent, AI-enabled systems. This role combines ownership of mission-critical ERP infrastructure with forward-looking AI strategy, driving both operational excellence and meaningful innovation.
Our ERP products are long-lived, revenue-critical client-server systems (primarily written in C and Providex), running on Linux and Windows virtual machines in Microsoft Azure or on customer systems.
What You'll Do

AI & ERP Strategy Leadership

Define and execute the roadmap for AI-enabled ERP capabilities

Identify opportunities to embed AI/ML into ERP workflows

Drive incremental transformation toward intelligent systems

Partner with leadership to align initiatives with business priorities

ERP Engineering Ownership

Own engineering health, delivery, and technical direction for the ERP platform

Lead and grow the ERP engineering team

Set pragmatic standards for legacy systems

Balance modernization with stability

Act as escalation point for critical production issues

AI Platform & Data Enablement

Support development of AI/data capabilities across the product suite

Guide data pipelines and model integration

Ensure governance, security, and compliance for AI systems

Evaluate and recommend third-party AI tools

Production & Operational Excellence

Own system reliability with 24/7 expectations

Lead incident response and root-cause analysis

Define on-call processes and reduce operational risk over time

Infrastructure & Cloud Leadership

Own the Azure ERP environment

Ensure best practices for disaster recovery, backups, and patching

Drive infrastructure automation improvements

Support cloud and SaaS evolution

Leadership & Collaboration

Act as senior technical leader across engineering and product teams

Collaborate closely with Product, Support, and Leadership

Mentor and develop the engineering team
Qualifications

Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role overseeing ERP or other mission-critical enterprise systems

Hands-on exposure to AI/ML initiatives with the ability to translate technical capabilities into measurable business value

Understanding of how AI can be applied in enterprise software contexts

Demonstrated track record of shipping AI systems into production that deliver real outcomes (revenue growth, cost reduction, efficiency gains) β not just internal experiments or prototypes

Experience with legacy system modernization while maintaining stability for existing customers

Strong background in cloud infrastructure, preferably Microsoft Azure
-
Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
