Role Description

As a Clinical and Economic Research (CER) Product Owner for inpatient classification methodologies including APR DRGs, MS-DRG and Tri-Care DRGs, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

• Leading, directing, prioritizing, and managing the design and development of Clinical and Economic Research inpatient classification development including APR DRGs, MS-DRGs and Tri-Care DRGs solutions.
• Guiding business product owners driving APR-DRG, MS-DRG and Tri-Care DRG payment solutions across markets and products.
• Guiding marketing and sales in understanding and communicating the value of the methodologies and enhancements to drive growth.
• Advancing and enhancing solution impact and usability in improving payment accuracy and measure efficiency and quality.
• Leading high-performing cross-functional team to deliver on-time, in full, error-free regulatory compliant maintenance, modifications and enhancements for CER inpatient classification solutions.
• Championing Scrum principles throughout the organization and consistently implementing all aspects of Scrum across the department scrum teams.
• Collaborating with research team to develop approaches that combine the power of categorical models with big data.
• Gaining a strong and broad understanding of the applicable healthcare landscape and patient payment classification solutions from a global perspective.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree or higher and a minimum of 7 years of experience in the health payer, software, services, industry in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement.
• OR High School Diploma/GED or higher from an accredited institution and a minimum of 11 years of experience in the health payer, software, services, industry in lieu of the bachelor’s degree education requirement.
• 4+ years product owner experience in healthcare software or healthcare services development life cycle experience.

Requirements

• Master's degree in business, healthcare related field, healthcare policy, health economics, clinical informatics, e.g., MBA, MPH, MPP.
• 4 years healthcare organization experience (e.g., government payer, provider, hospital, insurance company, health care consulting, software, research, services firm).
• Strong project management skills and process and detail-oriented with innate ability to focus on details and manage complex multi-phase projects on time in full.
• Strong knowledge of healthcare payment policy attained within the US or Internationally.
• Expert storyteller with the ability to connect the dots between solution use cases and target markets.
• Experience of working with and/or within health systems, health plans, government/regulators, value-based care arrangements.
• Strong collaborator with the ability to unite across development teams, marketing, sales, and other business units.
• Highly motivated person that can execute work independently, well organized to ensure the achievement of overall business unit objectives.
• History of strong presentation and writing skills on complex topics.
• Evidence of thought leadership demonstrated through speaking engagements, interviews, blogs, articles.
