Role Description

Part-time position (30 or 32 hours) with day hours available. Every fourth weekend and holiday rotation.

• Uses the nursing process and established protocols to assess patient needs telephonically.
• Determines appropriate level of care, provides education, establishes a plan of care, and communicates follow-up instructions.
• Prioritizes patient interactions by acuity and need.
• Implements strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety.
• Supports shared governance activities to improve processes and outcomes.
• Participates in quality/process improvement initiatives.
• Engages in professional development and attends required meetings/educational programs.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills.
• Promotes a culture of safety and reports patient safety events.
• Applies ethical decision-making and collaborates with the patient care team.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to provide age-appropriate care.
• Accurately maintains and updates clinical records.
• Participates in team meetings and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.
• Associate's Degree (or equivalent knowledge) in Nursing.
• Typically requires 2+ years' of acute care experience, preferably within the last 4 years (ED, Urgent Care, ICU, and some Med Surg will be considered).
