Role Description
National Jewish Health is seeking a part-time Tobacco Cessation Health Coach to provide assessment, education, and behavioral support to individuals working to quit tobacco. This role engages participants through phone and digital coaching, using motivational interviewing techniques to guide individuals in setting goals, making quit attempts, and maintaining long-term abstinence.
Key Responsibilities

Provide coaching and education using motivational interviewing techniques to support tobacco cessation.

Conduct intake assessments, verify eligibility, and document participant information in compliance with HIPAA and program guidelines.

Build rapport with participants, assess readiness to change, and support behavior change through ongoing engagement.

Participate in continuous training and apply feedback to maintain quality standards and evidence-based practices.

Meet call center metrics and individual performance expectations.
Essential Duties

Educates and coaches a diverse population of participants in quitting tobacco by following motivational interviewing techniques.

Completes an intake questionnaire with participants to verify program eligibility.

Documents participant data in compliance with HIPAA requirements, departmental standards, and specific client guidelines.

Maintains friendly, confident, open, and effective communication with participants to identify program eligibility and inspire continued participation.

Engages in a process of continuous training, learning, and professional growth including QA scores and feedback.

Maintains call center metrics and individual performance standards.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:
Bachelorβs Degree required; a degree in Psychology, Social Work or other Human Services field preferred.

Work Experience:
A minimum of two (2) years of experience as a health coach preferred.

Special Training, Certification or Licensure:
Fluent in English and Spanish preferred.
Salary Range
Salary for this position is set at $21.50/hour. Candidates who are bilingual speaking Spanish will receive an additional $1.00/hour language differential.
Work Setting
This is a fully remote position. Candidates must reside in Colorado, Hawaii, Texas, Arizona, Florida, Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, or California.
