Role Description
Therapists provide behavioral health services, including counseling and person-centered treatment planning through evidence-based practice to improve clients' life functioning.
Qualifications

Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Psychology and license or eligibility for license required.

Valid driver’s license and vehicle required.

Must pass a Criminal Background Check and Employment Fitness Determination through WVCARES and a drug screen.

Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer skills required.

Essential Functions
-
Assess client problems by collecting and evaluating information about the client’s symptoms and functioning.

Develop an individual treatment plan with measurable goals to address client specific issues.

Aid client by suggesting and exploring behavioral resolutions and discussing progress towards resolving behavioral issues.

Assist client in obtaining services by initiating referrals.
-
Monitor progress toward treatment strategy by evaluating and adjusting services provided, if needed.

If independently licensed, participate in treatment planning multidisciplinary team meetings to monitor client progress in treatment and make any needed clinical recommendations and/or give clinical guidance.

If independently licensed and approved, perform clinical evaluations and testimony related to mental hygiene hearings.

Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; obtaining required continuing education as required by professional license; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; and reviewing relevant state rules and regulations regarding the provision of services.

Promote the agency by ensuring an understanding of program services available for clients; by appropriately publicizing activities and accomplishments; adhering to a professional code of ethics.

Assure quality service for clients by becoming knowledgeable of and adhering to rules, regulations, and legal requirements and by documenting services provided and data collection and reporting in accordance with established standards.

Secure information by adhering to HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2 regulations and Seneca privacy policies and keeping client information confidential.

Represent Seneca in a positive manner including maintaining a positive attitude and performing duties in accordance with Seneca’s Code of Conduct and Ethical Practice.
