Role Description

We are inviting expressions of interest for a Therapeutic Caseworker to support clients accessing the Let’s Talk Elder Mediation and Support Service. This role is part of a multidisciplinary team and contributes to program development, service delivery, and community engagement, including promoting the service to clients and stakeholders.

• Deliver high‑quality therapeutic casework to elders and their families, supporting them through age‑related challenges using a person‑centred, trauma‑informed approach.
• Provide casework interventions in consultation with the Senior Therapeutic Caseworker, ensuring best practice and client safety.
• Conduct client sessions via face‑to‑face, phone and video, maintaining accurate and timely records.
• Assess client needs and risks, and provide appropriate referrals to counselling, mediation, family therapy and other relevant services.
• Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to enhance the visibility and impact of the Let’s Talk program.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Mediation, or a related discipline.
• Family Advisor experience in roles such as Caseworker, Counsellor, Mediator, or Community Engagement.
• Understanding of age-related issues and experience working with older people is highly regarded (training will be provided).
• Knowledge of family and domestic violence dynamics, including experience supporting both victims and perpetrators.

Requirements

• 2 - 2.5 days available (flexibility around which days).
• Based at any RANSW centre, with potential to work from home.
• Approx $48-$54 per hour (depending on skills and experience) + 12% super, 17.5% leave loading and tax-free salary packaging up to $15,900.
