Role Description
MindCare Solutions is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) to join our dynamic team on a part-time basis. The ideal candidate will have recent experience (within the past 24 months) providing psychiatric care to a broad range of patients in a general hospital setting, including evaluating and treating patients in both the emergency department and inpatient behavioral health units.
Compensation: negotiable
Hours: P/T - 10-12 hours per week
Duties/Responsibilities:

Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnose and treat mental health disorders, develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide high-quality, patient-centered psychiatric care.

Play a key role in supporting clinical coverage and ensuring continuity of care across hospital-based settings.

Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications as necessary.

Conduct daily rounds, ensuring continuity of care and effective communication with the healthcare team.

Respond promptly to consult requests from the Emergency Department and Inpatient units, offering expert psychiatric assessments and recommendations.

Monitor and adjust medication regimens to optimize effectiveness and minimize side effects.

Implement therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of psychiatric conditions.

Offer education and support to residents and their families regarding mental health conditions and treatment options.

Promote mental health awareness and wellness among residents.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in compliance with regulatory standards.

Ensure timely and thorough documentation of all assessments and interventions.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance mental health care services within the facility.

Collaborate with the healthcare team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing from an accredited program specializing in Psychiatric Mental Health.

Current and unrestricted PMHNP license in TX.

Board certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC).

Minimum of 1 year's clinical experience as a PMHNP, preferably in a hospital or acute care setting.

Strong knowledge of psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Active and unrestricted DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.

Maintain clinical competency & collaboration with Psychiatrist (we will provide).
