Role Description

The Senior Director, Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) will lead, mentor and develop Neurelis’ high performance national field-based medical team. This leader will establish annual strategic plans around VALTOCO® (diazepam nasal spray), disease state education, and clinical development programs (as requested) to ensure operational and tactical alignment with corporate and departmental goals.

• Establish key quantitative and qualitative indicators and track MSL performance regularly to ensure effective and compliant engagement with external healthcare professionals.
• Facilitate and bolster the team’s interactions with internal stakeholders and support cross-functional integrated field activities.
• Function as a key contributor within a small, private and rapidly growing pharmaceutical company.
• Actively contribute to the strategic and operational development of Clinical Development and Medical Affairs (CDMA).

Qualifications

• Advanced degree required (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD).
• Minimum of 12+ years in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry with demonstration of effective supervisory ability.
• Functional understanding of the MSL role and responsibilities along with the rules, regulations and procedures that moderate Clinical Development and Medical Affairs.
• Strong strategic planning and tactical execution skills.
• Effective analytical, communication and presentation skills.

Requirements

• Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively and cross-functionally, within a rapidly developing and team-oriented environment.
• Proven leadership of a successful MSL team is strongly preferred.
• Corporate experience in the Neuroscience therapeutic area, particularly within epilepsy, is preferred.

Benefits

• Salary range: $245,000 - $270,000

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Requires driving, getting in and out of an automobile, air travel, going up and down stairs and walking through medical buildings and to and from physician offices.
• Spends approximately 90% of work time sitting and meeting with others or working at a desk and/or computer.
• Spends approximately 10% of work time standing or walking within the work area or at meetings.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Occasionally lifts and/or moves up to 10 pounds.
• Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
• The noise level is usually moderate.

Travel Requirements

• Ability to travel up to 50% within the United States.
