Role Description

The Specialty Operations Pharmacy Technician 3 assists pharmacists in the preparation, coordination, and handling of Specialty Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) medications. These medications include Lenalidomide, Spravato, and Sublocade. The technician adheres to stringent safety, regulatory, and compliance requirements while performing these tasks.

• Design REMS programs to prevent, monitor, and manage serious medication-related risks through provider and patient education.
• Perform advanced administrative, operational, and customer support functions.
• Contact physicians to clarify prescription orders and enter prescriptions into the system as appropriate.
• Support pharmacists and patients by ensuring compliance with REMS-specific operational processes.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, providers, and leadership.
• Exercise discretion and independent judgment when prioritizing requests and interpreting procedures.
• Perform work with minimal supervision and limited guidance.

Qualifications

• Active unrestricted Pharmacy Technician License in Arizona, Florida, Ohio, or Texas.
• National Certification: PTCB (CphT) or ExCPT.
• Minimum 2 years of Pharmacy Technician experience, including strong data entry.
• Basic working knowledge of MS Office including Outlook.
• Ability to learn and use various platforms such as SharePoint, Teams, etc.

Requirements

• 1 or more years of mail order pharmacy experience (preferred).
• Inbound and outbound call center experience (preferred).
• Experience as a REMS Pharmacy Technician (preferred).
• Working knowledge of RxNova, CRM, and ScriptMed (preferred).
