Role Description
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) has the primary responsibility of building key opinion leader (KOL) partnerships by engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical and/or scientific information with external stakeholders (HCPs, researchers, professional organization leadership, and formulary decision-makers) in Rare Dermatology across the West Coast.
Scientific engagements include:

Establishing and maintaining educational and research collaborations.

Delivery of clinical, scientific, and technical education.

Building long-term peer-to-peer relationships with key stakeholders.
-
Providing scientific education, including high-level HEOR and RWE concepts.

Listening with true curiosity to bring the customerโs voice into our organization.
Youโll be responsible for:

Building external partnerships with recognized community and academic medical center KOLs.

Identifying and developing key thought leaders for medical education, clinical research, and publication opportunities.

Cultivating existing and identifying new collaborative KOL relationships.
-
Providing field insights to field managers and team.
-
Identifying opportunities and providing medical support to healthcare professionals (HCPs).
-
Fostering professional relationships in key institutions for Chiesi USA.
-
Recognizing opportunities for cross-functional engagement based on customer needs.
-
Representing Chiesi USA Medical Affairs at national, regional, and local scientific meetings.
-
Providing field-based medical affairs assistance for clinical research initiatives.
-
Delivering high-caliber medical education presentations.
-
Gathering and disseminating competitive intelligence.
-
Participating in internal therapeutic advisory groups.

Partnering and planning with business partners in assigned region.
Therapeutic Support, Internal Collaboration, and Project Work:

Leading and supporting internal medical projects aligned to individual development plan.
-
Supporting cross-functional projects and streamlining medical input.
-
Participating in and contributing to clinical research and medical education material development.
-
Contributing to monthly medical meetings including journal clubs and team meetings.

Supporting new team members through mentoring and onboarding activities.
Administrative Work:

Accurate and timely completion of documentation of field activities.

Completing required training on time and in full.
-
Taking personal responsibility to continue to learn and maintain high-level expertise.
Qualifications

Completion of a graduate level degree (PharmD., M.D., D.O, DNP, PhD, MSN, MS or equivalent healthcare professional degree) along with relevant clinical experience.

5-7 years MSL experience in Rare Disease.

Location
Field-Based/Remote position, up to 75% travel as necessary to meet job requirements; Candidates must reside in Central US territory, relocation services will not be offered.
Compensation
The annual base pay for this position ranges from $183,870 to $224,730. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors.
