Role Description

The School Based Behavioral Health Therapist (SBBHT) is responsible for:

• Completing intakes and providing psychiatric diagnostic evaluations.
• Individual and family psychotherapy.
• Therapeutic behavioral support/case management.
• Psychoeducation prevention services.
• Consultation with school professionals, parents, and students as needed.
• Managing a diverse caseload and collaborating with persons served and other providers.
• Providing services primarily in the school/community/home with telehealth availability as clinically indicated.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work or counseling.
• LSW/LISW or LPC/LPCC in good standing in the state of Ohio.
• A valid driver’s license in the State of Ohio with access to an insured vehicle.
• Must not have any 6-point violations and ability to obtain and maintain bodily injury/property coverage of $100,000/$300,000.

Requirements

• Collaborate with school personnel to identify students needing behavioral health services and facilitate the referral process.
• Contact and meet parents/caregivers of children referred for behavioral health services for intake, consent to treat, and psychiatric diagnostic evaluations.
• Provide individual counseling, therapeutic behavioral support, parent guidance, and family interventions.
• Provide group counseling/therapeutic behavioral support/prevention groups as needed.
• Integrate behavioral health with the client’s health needs and refer for appropriate medical, dental, psychiatric, and other psychosocial service needs.
• Responsible for timely completion of clinical documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
• Meet productivity expectations.
• Opportunity to become trained in Early Child Mental Health screenings, assessment/diagnosis, and provision of community-based consultation and/or therapeutic services during summer months with youth (0-5) and their families.
